QUICK START

How to use the platform

SOMNIA is an operating system for sleep medicine: a fleet of agents that runs the operational spine of your service while every consequential decision stays with you. Ten minutes here and you will know your way around.

Three rules before you touch anything

1. De-identified data only

No names, dates of birth, MRNs, addresses, or contact details anywhere in the platform. Use labels like "Case A" or "62F". Every screen that takes clinical input says so, and some require you to attest before they will run.

2. You are the decision-maker

Agents propose. Nothing becomes an order, a prescription, or a sent message until you sign it — and every signature is recorded in the audit trail.

3. Everything is an artifact

Every output carries the same action bar. That bar is how work leaves SOMNIA and enters your EHR, your inbox, or your patient's hands.

Copy puts the text on your clipboard — paste straight into your EHR  ·  Download saves a text file  ·  Email opens your mail client with it written  ·  Sign & log records your signature

Your first ten minutes

1

Open a study and copy the note. Study Queue → click any study. Read the hypnogram and metrics, edit the draft interpretation directly in the text box, press Copy to EHR, paste into your chart. That single loop is the heart of the platform.

2

Run a real case. Run a Case → enter a de-identified patient you actually saw this week. Tick the attestation box, press Run the fleet, and judge what comes back.

3

Watch the insomnia engine calculate. Insomnia Engine → Load example week → Compute titration. It computes sleep efficiency and hands you a new window and bedtime. Then clear it and enter a real patient's diary.

4

Let the Adversary attack a note. The Adversary → Load weak note → Run the Adversary. It finds the denial before the payer does. Then paste one of your own notes and see what it says — it will tell you if the note is clean.

5

Check the audit trail. Everything you just did is there with your signature on it. Export CSV — that is your compliance record.

The two things people miss

The heartbeat runs without you. Every fifteen minutes a server-side process reviews the panel and queues proposals — stalled registrations, due titrations, PAP thresholds crossed. Start your day in the Morning Brief: the work is already done and waiting for a signature.
The Report Translator does not read images or diagnose. It restates the reporting clinician's own words in plain language. That boundary is deliberate and permanent — it is what makes the output safe to hand a patient.

What SOMNIA does not do

It does not diagnose, prescribe, or change device settings on its own. It does not interpret medical images. It does not yet write directly into your EHR — output moves by copy, download, or email, and direct integration is an implementation workstream. And until your BAA and security review are complete, it is a clinical reasoning and drafting environment, not a system of record for identified patient data.
